Feedback to the public consultation on the Net-Zero Industry Act Delegated Act on primarily used components

IOGP Europe welcomes the European Commission’s Delegated Act on primarily used components under the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA). As a key industry stakeholder, we recognize the importance of a clear and pragmatic regulatory framework that enables Europe’s transition to net-zero while ensuring technological neutrality. However, we express concerns over overly restrictive criteria that could unintentionally exclude critical components essential for net-zero technologies. A more inclusive approach is needed to ensure the alignment between strategic net-zero projects and the necessary technologies that underpin their success.

To accelerate investment in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and hydrogen projects, we advocate for a more flexible classification of net-zero components, acknowledging that some key technologies serve both net-zero and conventional applications. IOGP Europe urges policymakers to ensure a balanced, adaptable, and forward-looking regulatory framework, fostering innovation while safeguarding Europe’s industrial competitiveness and energy security.
