On behalf of the Informal Coalition on Permitting (ICP), we are pleased to invite you to join us for the first high-level conference on Permitting in Europe.
From Bottlenecks to Breakthroughs:
Rethinking Industrial Permitting for a Competitive & Climate-Neutral Europe
Tuesday, 8 September 2026
Voka Brussels Office – Rue Royale 154-158, 1000 Brussels
As Europe seeks to strengthen its competitiveness while accelerating the energy transition, permitting has become one of the defining challenges for delivering strategic industrial and energy investments. Across sectors, lengthy, complex and often fragmented procedures continue to delay projects that are essential to Europe’s industrial resilience, decarbonisation and energy security.
Bringing together senior representatives from the European institutions, Member States, permitting authorities, industry, financial institutions and civil society, this conference will provide a unique opportunity to exchange practical experiences, discuss current policy developments and identify concrete solutions to build faster, more predictable and investment-friendly permitting frameworks across Europe.
A foretaste of the programme:
The programme will feature high-level keynote addresses and interactive panel discussions covering:
– Unlocking cross-sector permitting bottlenecks and opportunities for simplification;
– Strengthening Europe’s industrial base through the CCS value chain;
– Accelerating renewable and geothermal energy projects through more effective permitting;
– Practical perspectives from permitting authorities, Member States and industry on making permitting work in practice.
The agenda and list of speakers will be published shortly.
The event will conclude with networking drinks, offering participants the opportunity to continue discussions and strengthen connections across Europe’s permitting community.
Register here.
Please note that Capacity is limited. Your registration will be subject to confirmation, and you will receive a confirmation email once your place has been secured.
