H2M
The ‘H2M’ (Hydrogen to Magnum) project intends to convert one of the three 440 MW CCGT units of the gas fired Magnum power plant (1.32 GW), located in Eemshaven, into burning 100% hydrogen. Natural gas will be imported from Norway via an offshore pipeline, will be converted to hydrogen with the associated carbon dioxide being captured and shipped back to Norway for offshore storage. Also, the H2M concept is to integrate a salt cavern for underground H2 storage to enable system flexibility.
