Vanessa Ryan

Vanessa T. Ryan is currently the General Manager of Policy Though Leadership and Engagement, a position she has held since July 2025. In this role, Vanessa leads engagement on lower carbon and other policy topics. Vanessa previously served as the Manager, Methane Reduction, working closely with Chevron’s business units to develop the company’s strategy on methane and flaring management.

Vanessa Ryan joined Chevron in 2007 as a public policy coordinator. Throughout her career at Chevron, she has held several key positions, including Manager of Carbon and Climate Policy, Manager of Carbon Reduction, and various government affairs roles supporting advocacy in the U.S. and Asia-Pacific. Vanessa currently serves as the Steering Committee Chair for The Environmental Partnership and leads the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative’s Role of Gas workstream.

Vanessa holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley
