Duiven CO2 plant

Duiven Waste To Energy Plant is a 30MW biopower project which generates 263GWh electricity a year and it is the first facility of its kind in Europe that is capable of capturing carbon dioxide on a truly significant scale. Household waste is used as a feedstock to power the project. CO2 is being captured and supplied to various buyers in the greenhouse horticulture sector. The CO2 capture unit is in operation since 2019 took over a year to be built and costed €20 million.
